The Bridge Fire is forcing evacuations in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties Wednesday as high winds and low humidity aid the fire's spread.
The Mountain High Resort was engulfed in flames overnight as the blaze quickly expanded.
The explosive wildfire raced toward the Southern California mountain community of Wrightwood and authorities encouraged residents to leave their belongings behind and get out of town.
Cal Fire said the fire has burned about 50,258 acres Wednesday and is 0% contained.
The fire started Sunday, around 2:15 p.m. near Camp Bonita Road and east of Camp Williams, according to Cal Fire.
California is only now heading into the teeth of the wildfire season but already has seen nearly three times as much acreage burn than during all of 2023.

Wildfire Preps
If you live in a wildfire-prone zone, Cal Fire suggests creating a defensible space around your home. Defensible space is an area around a building in which vegetation and other debris are completely cleared. At least 100 feet is recommended.
The Department of Homeland Security suggests assembling an emergency kit that has important documents, N95 respirator masks, and supplies to grab with you if you’re forced to leave at a moment’s notice. The agency also suggests signing up for lvocal warning system notifications and knowing your community’s evacuation plans best to prepare yourself and your family in cases of wildfires.
