Sacramento State takes on Eastern Washington back at home after bye week | LIVE SCORE

The Sacramento State Hornets and Eastern Washington Eagles will face off tonight at 6 p.m. in Sacramento.

SACRAMENTO, Calif — The Sacramento State Hornets will take on Eastern Washington Eagles on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Sacramento at the Hornet Stadium. 

Sac State is coming off a bye week. The Hornets are looking for their third win of the season while Eastern Washington hopes to get its second win. 

Sac State has lost two games against FBS schools San Jose State and Fresno State but played well enough to be highly ranked in the polls.

The Hornets are ranked #18 in the Stats Perform Top 25 Poll and #20 in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll, Eastern Washington is unranked. 

Eastern Washington had a close game last week against Montana State Grizzles, as the two went head-to-head scoring on both ends of the field but the Eagles fell short, losing 52-49.

Sac State is heading into week two of Big Sky conference play taking on Eastern Washington which finished 10th in the 2023 season.  In their last game, the Hornets took on Northern Arizona and lost 34-16.

Sac State kicker Zach Schreiner is coming off a strong solo-man game scoring almost all points in the first half. Schreiner had made field goals from the 49, 37, and 32-yard line. The 49-yard field goal marked the longest kick of his career and tied for the 10th longest in school history. 

Sac State could have its hands full with Eastern Washington wide receiver Efton Chism III, who had a solid game against Montana State last weekend, he crossed the milestone of 3,000 career receiving yards, bringing his total to 3,054. This achievement puts him sixth on the school's all-time receiving yards list, surpassing Tony Brooks.
