CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. — 10:55 p.m. update:
Eastbound I-80 at Greenback Lane has been reopened. It was closed for most of the day after officials said a chase and crash led to a law enforcement shooting near Greenback Lane.
The stretch of I-80 had been closed since about 12:20 p.m. before reopening just before 11 p.m.

Traffic is backed up to Watt Avenue along eastbound Interstate 80 after a law enforcement shooting in Citrus Heights.
Eastbound I-80 is closed approaching Greenback Lane as police investigate.
Sgt. Amar Gandhi, spokesperson for the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, said their canine unit was with the California Highway Patrol for a chase along eastbound I-80 when the suspect collided with a motorcyclist around 12:20 p.m.
Gandhi said the suspect got out of the car with a knife which then led to law enforcement opening fire. It's not clear how many shots were fired or which agency shot first, but officials said the shooting involved two CHP officers and a canine deputy.

Caltrans said people should expect delays. It's not clear when the roadway will reopen.
