First weekend of November could see snow, rain in Northern California

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will see highs close to 80 degrees and remain rain-free. Then, things change as we head into the weekend.

SACRAMENTO, Calif — After a very warm and dry October for Northern California, some big changes are coming for the first weekend in November.

Most of this week will be warm, sunny and dry with high temperatures well above the average of 70 degrees. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will see highs close to 80 degrees and remain rain-free.

Friday morning the entire pattern changes with a mostly dry cold front pushing in from the north. There will be some moisture, mostly in the Sierra with light showers possible during the day. In the Valley, it will be breezy with high temperatures crashing into the mid 60s. The skies should be mostly cloudy at times and it will look and feel very different than the weather over the last few weeks.

The Sierra will also see some light snow with a few inches possible to the pass level. Check ahead for road conditions if you are traveling in the Sierra.

The weekend will remain cool in the 60s for Saturday and Sunday, with a second wave of moisture possible with a few more inches of Sierra snow to the passes and a little below.
