Need weekend plans? Check out local restaurants named in Yelp's Top 100 of 2024

Yelp named restaurants in Auburn, Folsom and Roseville among their 'Top 100 Places to Eat' in 2024. Here's what they serve.

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — The food review site Yelp recently released its 'Top 100 Places to Eat' for 2024 and it included eateries right here in the Sacramento region from Auburn, Folsom and Roseville.

While Arizona, Florida and Texas accounted for 30% of this year's ranking, California clocked in 18 entrees — with three of them being local.

With cuisines from barbeque to Mediterranean to pizzas and pastas, here are the three local restaurants recognized in Yelp's Top 100 and their weekend hours:

#18 Guy's For Lunch (Roseville)

Standout chicken, pulled pork, hot pastrami and more, Guy's For Lunch is a family sandwich shop run by a couple married for 37 years, according to their website.

With many different sandwiches to chose from, the Roseville eatery also has a secret menu, which includes a sub they call 'Kick Butt' that contains pulled pork with melted pepper jack cheese, bacon and onion on sourdough.

“The pulled pork cooks for three days in its own fat, so it’s super tender,” owner Guy Manwaring told Yelp.

Hours:

  • Tuesday - Saturday
  • 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Closed Sunday and Monday

#24 Zest Mediterranean Cuisine (Folsom)

Some of the most authentic Lebanese/Mediterranean food experiences is right here in Folsom at Zest Mediterranean Cuisine, according to Yelp.

Don't be put off by the restaurant's strip mall location, the gyro wraps are piled high with meat and you'll definitely need a few napkins by the time you dig in.

“Our baklava is prepared the Lebanese way,” chef-owner Wally Matar told Yelp. “It’s totally different from what people find in the grocery. It’s crispy, fluffy, with stuffing that’s rich in pistachios and cashew nuts instead of walnuts.”

Hours:

  • Monday - Saturday
  • 11 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
  • Closed Sunday

#30 Pizzeria Luba (Auburn)

The crispy sourdough crust pizzas and locally sourced ingredients are what make Pizzeria Luba the hot spot destinations it is today.

Chef-owner Corey Belanger founded the pizzeria with his wife Carmen after building a wood-fired oven in his backyard in 2012 for baking sourdough bread.

“We don’t add any manufactured yeast, sugar, or oil—just good-quality flour, salt, water, and our sourdough starter, which we’ve had going since 2012,” he told Yelp. “It has an earthy, nutty taste and a chewy texture that holds up to the ingredients better than other doughs.”

Hours:

  • Tuesday - Saturday
  • 4 - 9 p.m.
  • Closed Sunday and Monday
