SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Two people were arrested in connection to a deadly shooting in Natomas on Nov. 8.
Police were originally called out on reports of a car crash and shots fires around 11 p.m. at San Juan Road and Truxel Road. When officers arrived they found two wrecked vehicles and two shooting victims.
One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. That second victim is still in the hospital, but investigators say their condition has been upgraded to stable.
On Thursday, police announced the arrests of two people in connection to the shooting. One suspect is identified as 23-year-old Adrian Castillo. The second suspect is only identified as a 17-year-old male juvenile.
Investigators say they believe this was an isolated incident, though they did not say what they believe led up to the shooting.
Castillo was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on two felony counts of murder and attempted murder. The unidentified teen was booked into the juvenile hall.
