Yager Lodge, a high-end cocktail bar and restaurant in Historic Folsom, delays opening to 2025

Faces behind Ace of Spades, LowBrau and The Cabin work to launch Yager Lodge, a high-end cocktail bar formerly slated to open around the holidays in 2024.

FOLSOM, Calif. — A high-end cocktail bar and restaurant in Folsom previously slated to open around the holidays now looks toward a spring 2025 launch.

Eric Rushing, a Live Nation vice president involved with popular Sacramento-area spots including Ace of Spades, The Cabin, Holy Diver, Old Ironsides, LowBrau and Folsom Hotel, said permits and final inspections for his newest project, Yager Lodge, will not be administered by the city of Folsom until early next year.

“My guess is next spring at this point with no real date set until after we have all final permits,” Rushing told ABC10 Monday.

Rushing and Eddie Meehan, founder and operator of the Sacramento-based music management and promotion company Please & Thank you, undertake the venture together.

William Hartzell, chef and owner of Represa Grill within the Folsom Hotel, will create Yager Lodge’s menu, Rushing said.

Over 20 cocktails made with fresh juices and ingredients and amazing drink-food pairings are set to appear on the menu, he said.

Located along 727 Traders Lane in the Folsom Historic District, the bar and restaurant fills the space formerly occupied by an escape room center until 2023.

ABC10 first reported Yager Lodge’s planned launch in August — shortly after two Historic Folsom businesses shut down operations. At the time the city’s chamber of commerce, Choose Folsom, said a long list of entrepreneurs wait to fill vacant spaces in the city.

“It is unfortunate when a business closes however, we found we have 75 new business license lists in July alone, more businesses are opening than closing in Folsom,” said Shannon Robb-Bundalian, vice president of strategic partnerships with Choose Folsom.

Yager Lodge gets its name from Peter Yager who built the building in the 1800s, according to Rushing.

“I wanted to preserve his legacy and history on the street,” he said. “I love Folsom. I’ve always had a thing for rehabbing old buildings and the history behind them.”
