Medical examiner identifies victims in Stockton arson triple homicide

The manhunt for the accused killer, Jose Carmona, continued for a fifth day Saturday.

STOCKTON, Calif. — The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner's Office identified the three people killed in an arson homicide Saturday.

According to the Medical Examiner's Office, the victims were 6-year-old Juan Jose Gutierrez Salazar, 10-year-old Julian Dejesus Cardona Gutierrez and their mom, 32-year-old Lisbeth Gutierrez.

The Stockton Police Department says fugitive Jose Carmona-- known by seven aliases-- lit the young family's RV on fire as they were sleeping inside of it Tuesday morning on Visalia Court near Harbor Street.

Police issued a plea to the public asking if anyone sees Carmona to call 911 as he is considered dangerous. While police haven't released a motive in the triple homicide, family members told ABC10 that Carmona and Lisbeth had been in a relationship for a few years and had recently moved to Stockton from Texas.

In a written statement originally in Spanish, a cousin of Lizbeth, Jazmin Sandoval, said that while the family is grieving and trying to fundraise to bring the victims' bodies back to Mexico, they are demanding justice.

"My cousin was a very noble person. She didn't like disputes and never fought. She was only dedicated to her children and was very playful," the statement said. "The family wants justice. We are shattered. Sometimes we think it's a bad dream, we can't believe this much evil. We are very sad, broken."
